Oiwan Lam

A Hong Kong-based blogger, Oiwan Lam gained notoriety in 2007 by challenging Hong Kong’s restrictive and archaic obscenity laws by linking to an art nude on Flickr. The photo was within the legal limits of obscenity, but the Obscene Articles Tribunal sought to prosecute nonetheless.

More details about the case on Oiwan’s own blog and you can also follow her in Chinese on Interlocals or Global Voices, of which she is Northeast Asia Editor.
